Note:
* All armour should be matte white or satin white (NO GLOSS) and weathered. Painter's touch white primer and Rustoleum Plastic Primer are recommended matte white paint choices.
* Black wash is an example of an acceptable weathering technique.
* Exposed rivets are not acceptable.
Most armour comes uncut, straight off the vac-table, which means you will have to trim all the parts, using either power tools, such as a Dremel, or small saws and exacto blades for the finer details. When assembling it, you will also need some sort of powerful plastic adhesive, clamps to hold it together, nylon straps, snaps and a bit of velcro at least.
A lot of inspiration and guides on how to put the parts together can be found over at the clone trooper detachment boards.
Prices for uncut armour starts at about $400, but can go much higher the more accurate the armour gets. If you go for the deluxe versions with all the bells and whistles (rubber parts, accurate thighs etc), you could be spending more than $1000.
Ammo belt
- With boxes and detonator. The detonator is centred on the back of belt. There are 8 boxes total, 4 on each side of the abdomen.
Boots
- White, ankle high or tall enough to cover the ankle and eliminate any black undersuit visible at the ankle area in armour. Boots must be laceless, flat soled boots. The boots have armour detail ("toe" armour, a strap that goes over the top of the foot, with two protruding disks at each side). There should be no markings or labels from the shoe makers, ie no Nike swoosh symbol.
A ROTS clonetrooper costume SHOULD have:
Blaster
- A DC15 short rifle and / or DC15 long rifle.
