TK - Stormtrooper (ROTJ)

An ROTJ Stormtrooper costume MUST have:

Helmet

  • White stormtrooper style helmet bearing green flat lenses. The “frown” should be painted black and the 8 “teeth” removed and backed with black mesh. All traps and “tears” must be painted or decaled slate blue. Rear traps and tears must also have vertical vent lines. Vent stripes on the tubes should be a medium to darker blue, and should curve backwards. The earpiece should have the raised rectangle painted grey with 4 ridges. The ear piece may have a screw above and below the raised grey section. A third screw may be used at the bottom of the ear piece if necessary. The “chin” must be painted black. A pair of "Hovi-mix" tips/tusks (or casts) or comparably sized sink aerators must be present in the recesses of the tubes.

Chest plate

  • White chest plate armour.

Back plate

  • White back plate armour (stormtrooper back plate detail must be present).
  • Shoulder straps: white shoulder strap armour. These must be securely mounted in front, but may float free in back. They may be affixed with rivets, Velcro, or adhesive.

Shoulder bells

  • White shoulder bell armour.

Biceps

  • White, fully closed bicep armour.

Forearms

  • White, fully closed forearm armour.

Hand plates

  • Trapezoid shaped white backhand armour, held in place by either an elastic strap or attached to the glove by Velcro or other means.

Ab plate

  • White ab plate armour (either one piece, or a separate cod & ab). Note that the ab plate has a sections with 9 buttons (each approx. 7/16” in diameter). Three should be painted dark blue and the other six should be painted black.

Back plate

  • White lower back plate armour (either a single piece, or separate kidney and butt).

Belt

  • White armoured ammo belt (front) with white canvas, leather, or armoured belt strap (back) that is 2½” wide, wraps around and is secured in place.

Drop boxes

  • White armoured boxes suspended at the front from each side of the belt by a ½“ to ¾“ white or black strap.

Thermal detonator

  • A grey thermal detonator canister must be present on the back of the belt, attached via fasteners, Velcro, clips, etc. The cylinder should be between 2 and 2 ½“.in diameter and have white end caps with a white control pad affixed, facing outwards. It may be permanently affixed using fasteners or be clipped.

Thigh covers

  • White armoured thigh covers that close in the back (the right thigh piece must have an ammo belt at the bottom).

Shin covers

  • White armoured shin/calf covers that close in the back (the right shin plate must have a polygon-shaped knee plate at the top).

Neck seal

  • Black, horizontally ribbed neck seal, extending from the base of the neck to the top of the throat..

Bodysuit

  • Black fabric under suit (either one-piece or two-piece), made of a non-textured material.

Gloves

  • Black in colour, either rubber, Nomex, leather or leather-like non-textured gloves. The gloves must be long enough to cover the skin at the wrist.

Boots

  • White leather or leather-like above-the-ankle boots having flat, black soles with low heel and bearing no extraneous buckles, straps, zippers, or decorative stitching.. They should contain a small U-shaped elastic panel on both sides of the ankle to facilitate removal.

An ROTJ Stormtrooper costume SHOULD have:

Helmet

  • A properly sized helmet. The "FX” helmet generally does not fit this category.
  • Correct "Hovi-mix" tips/tusks (or casts) instead of aerators.

Back plate

  • Separate the kidney and butt plates (subsequently hinging them with elastic, Velcro, etc).
  • Armour side gaps should be closed. This can be done by adding a shim or shims of white armour to the back plate.

Shoulder straps

  • Should not be attached with rivets, and should free float in the back rather than being permanently attached.

Blaster

  • Blastech E-11 blaster Rifle.

Holster

  • Black leather or leather-like holster, worn on the left side of belt. It should be attached by two loops that go over the belt.

An ROTJ Stormtrooper costume MAY have:

Hand plates

  • Snowtrooper style.

Blaster

  • DTL-19 (MG-34) blaster rifle or SE-14R pistol.
