After a bit of a miserable time, Åsa and I decided to cheer me up by making a new costume for TFA. I chose to go for Kylo Ren as I didn't have the skills / money to get a stormtrooper and none of the other costumes I have seen so far really grabbed me but a TFA X-Wing Pilot might be nice. Anyway, we've been working for a while now and it's starting to come together...

Under tunic: Homemade by the ever amazing Mrs Walker It is actually two separate parts, a very simple base layer that holds the arms on then like a long waistcoat with the body pleats.

We have also made a start on the mid-tunic. So far we have only got the top half done as we hadn't counted on needing this (we started before the CRL was done) and have not bought enough material. The first attempt was the correct general shape but a bit too wide as you cansee below. Åsa is busy on the sewing machine right now taking it in a little...
I've made a pair of waxed jeans but I may need to get something shinier before full approval. Depends on how my weekend waxing comes out. Going to do another coat of wax and iron it in.
Almost finished the outer robe The shoulders need to be shaped a little more then sewn and the whole thing needs to be cut to the right length. Won't do that till the Imperial Boots arrive.
