Four members of the Nordic Garrison attended the national final of Stjärnskott, a talent show for children, at Sollidenscen in Skansen, Stockholm. While there we presented a cheque for 7000SEK to Olle Björk, the General Secretary of Barncancerfonden, and helped Barncancerfonden to raise more money for cancer research.

 In recent months the Nordic Garrison troopers have started to raise money for charities in the four countries we represent. Today we have made our first donation by giving 7000SEK to Barncancerfonden in Sweden. We have also raised a large amount of money for Børnecancerfonden in Denmark and St Olavs hospital in Norway. We hope to be able to distribute this very soon.

We would like to thank all our troopers and support staff for their hard work and also the public who have been very generous in their donations to good causes

Radiohuset, Copenhagen, Denmark
This saturday, TK-2501, SL-150 and TK-876 went to Radiohuset in Copenhagen to troop at an event, hosted by one of the most famous chéfs in Denmark: Nikolaj Kirk. The event was to collect money for HIV and AIDS in Africa, and some sort of free food for those who stopped by.
Nikolaj had talked on the radio the day before about orcs, and as a sidenote he mentioned it would be cool to have a Darth Vader and two Stormtroopers show up. Well, Nordic Garrison to the rescue, because NG did the fastest deployment in NG history, 4 hours and 30 mins after receiving the sms, NG was there in armor!
There were about 200 people gathered there, and Nordic Garrison was metioned on the radio.

The first contest of our anniversary year is about you, the fans! By submitting your best photo and story of a 501st Encounter, you can win fantastic prizes from the 501st!

1 Grand Prize package includes:

5 Honorable Mention Winners will recieve a 10-card set of assorted 501st trading cards including some autographed chase cards!

We want to see you, your family, or your kids interacting with any costumed members of the 501st. Did Vader attend your wedding? Did you run into a squad of Stormtroopers at the Rose Parade? Did Darth Maul convince you to buy a Star Wars DVD set at the local video store? All entries must include:

  1. An approximate date and the location where the encounter took place

  2. A brief paragraph or two describing the occasion

  3. At least one image from the event (600 x 800 pixels or larger)

Birthday trooping at Darth Felix's place
We got an email from a father, who thought it would be great to have a Stormtrooper come by his sons Kalas. He thought it was a longshot, but went ahead and wrote the email anyway. We thought it was a cool idea, and after talking to Felix´s dad on the phone, the details were in place.
Felix and his friends were totally exited to see a real life Stormtrooper, and they asked a million questions. It was great to see the look on their faces when our TK876 came through the door! He made a Diploma for Felix and framed it, stating that their home had been invaded by a Stormtrooper and to always serve the emperor.

What a week!
Our 5 proud troopers are back from Pasadena (well 2 of them are staying on to enjoy the California-sun for a while longer).
