Nordic Garrison heads to Pasadena
Tomorrow, on the 27th of December, 5 of our troopers are heading to Pasadena to be a part of the invited 200 troopers in the Rose Parade. We are sure they will make us all proud; TK-867, TK-2501, TB-5573, TK-842 and TK-4918.

Our friends at starwars.com have prepared an exciting article about the 501st Legion's participation in the upcoming 2007 Rose Parade. Fans can now have the first peek at the military-style marching drills that 501st members around the world are currently undergoing in preparation for the 5.5-mile parade route in Pasadena, California. Dressing in Queen Amidala's gorgeous gowns and waving at fans from a beautiful Naboo set may sound like a royal dream, but for three Star Wars fans it'll become their destiny during the upcoming Rose Bowl Parade celebration on Jan. 1, 2007 in Pasadena, California.

The Chosen One
The 501st Nordic Garrison inducted actor Jake Lloyd (young Anakin Skywalker) as an honorary 501st member on November 5th at a Stockholm convention. Lloyd's presentation was witnessed by another 501st Honorary Member, the Original Trilogy Darth Vader, Dave Prowse.

SciFi Convention in Stockholm and our first honourary member
During the past weekend we could be seen at the Scandinavian Sci-Fi, Game & Film Convention. We had the blessed opportunity to hand over a honourary membership to Jake Lloyd (Young Anakin Skywalker) and have our photo taken with him and Dave Prowse (Darth Vader). Swedish TV4 did a cover from the convention which can be seen here.
 
During the events we successfully raised alot of money that will be donated later on this year.

MyDiscovery
Today our XO was announced to be on of the top 3 nominees for a MyDiscovery documentary. The winner will be announced this Thursday (9 of November) in Stockholm. Stayed tuned for the result.

Event announcement; Åhléns, Göteborg
Meet us at Åhléns, Nordstaden, Göteborg on the 28th of November. We'll be in the media department (bottom store) between 12.00 - 16.00. Have your photo taken with us using our backdrop to get that nice Star Wars feeling! We'll try to raise as much as money as possible (will be used for Christmas donations to children!)

501st Legion head to Pasadena 
At the San Diego Comic Con, Lucasfilm announced that the group would be marching in the Star Wars entry in the 2007 Tournament of Roses parade in Pasadena, California. 
Lucasfilm is flying in members of the 501st Legion from all over the world (they have sixty units in twenty countries and on five continents) to participate in the parade, totaling two hundred Stormtroopers. Star Wars spectacular; (the title of the parade entry) is in celebration of the thirtieth anniversary of the release of Star Wars. The float will include Ewoks urging parade watchers to “Save the trees”. Providing a musical backdrop for the float will be the “best in the land”, Grambling State University Tiger Marching Band. 
Mark Fordham, the current 501st Legion Commander, was asked about the Legion’s reaction to the personal request from George Lucas. Fordham replied, “When we first heard about the Rose Parade opportunity we were floored!” “We are used to trooping events for Mr. Lucas, but in this case this event is not for him, but from him! Other than George showing up on our doorsteps with a cake, I can't think of a more flattering "thank you" for the service we have rendered as a club.” This special group of fans seems humbled by the honor, “To call this historic for us doesn’t describe its magnitude.”

Grand Marshal Lucas
Star Wars fans have a lot to look forward to at the 2007 New Year's Day Rose Parade in Pasadena, California. Not only will the Rose Parade premiere two spectacular floats representing the good-natured worlds of Naboo and Endor accompanied by 200 members of the 501st Legion, but now George Lucas will lead the world-famous parade as the official Grand Marshal. Lucas will also toss the coin before the 93rd Rose Bowl Game on January 1, 2007. Read more in the official press release on the Tournament of Roses
