A Sandtrooper costume MUST have:

[Note: all armour must be made of ABS, HIPS, styrene, or fiberglass, and should be properly fitted to the costumer via trimming, shimming, etc. Armour should also be dirtied to some degree or another.]


Helmet

  • White stormtrooper style helmet bearing green flat lenses. The “frown” should be painted a medium to dark grey, and the “teeth” removed and backed with black mesh. All traps and “tears” must be grey (painted or decal). Vent stripes on the tubes should be blue, and should curve backwards. The earpiece should have the raised rectangle painted grey with 4 ridges. The ear piece may have a screw above and below the raised grey section. A third screw may be used at the bottom of the ear piece if necessary. The “chin” must be painted black. A pair of mic tips or aerators must be present in the recesses of the tubes.
     

Pauldron

  • A black (Private), orange (Sargeant), or white (Captain) neck ornament made of leather or a leather-like material.

Ammo pouches

  • Black leather or leather-like German MP-40 style ammo pouches, worn either on the hips or on the left shoulder, opposite the pauldron.

Chest plate

  • White chest plate armour.

Back plate

  • White back plate armour.

Shoulder straps

  • White shoulder strap armour. These must be securely mounted in front, but may float free in back. They may be affixed with rivets, Velcro, or adhesive. Note that shoulder straps are only appropriate when not wearing a backpack.

Shoulder bells

  • White shoulder bell armour.

Biceps

  • White, fully closed bicep armour.

Forearms

  • White, fully closed forearm armour.

Hand plates

  • Trapezoid shaped white backhand armour, held in place by either an elastic strap or attached to the glove by Velcro or other means.

Ab plate

  • White ab plate armour (either one piece, or a separate cod & ab). Note that the sandtrooper ab plate has a rectangular detail section where the standard TK “buttons” section is. To the left of this are 3 or four white buttons.

Back plate

  • White lower back plate armour (either a single piece, or separate kidney and butt) _

Belt

  • White armoured ammo belt (front) with white canvas, leather, or armoured belt strap (back) that is approximately 3” wide.

Thigh covers

  • White armoured thigh covers that close in the back (the right thigh piece must have an ammo belt at the bottom).

Shin covers

  • White armoured shin/calf covers that close in the back (the right shin plate must have a diamond knee plate at the top).

Neck seal

  • Black, horizontally ribbed neck seal, extending from the base of the neck to the top of the throat..

Bodysuit

  • Black fabric under suit (either one-piece or two-piece), made of a non-textured material.

Gloves

  • Black rubber, Nomex, leather or leather-like non-textured gloves. The gloves must be long enough to cover the skin at the wrist.

Boots

  • White leather or leather-like above-the-ankle boots having flat, black soles and bearing no extraneous buckles, straps, zippers, or decorative stitching.. They should contain a small U-shaped elastic panel on both sides of the ankle to facilitate removal.

A sandtrooper SHOULD have:

Blaster

  • DLT-19 heavy blaster rifle (MG-34), T-21 light repeating blaster (Lewis Gun), misc blaster (MG15), or E-11 blaster rifle (without holster).

Desert backpack

  • ANH style canon backpack with details.

Helmet

  • A properly sized helmet. The "FX” helmet generally does not fit this category.
  • Correct hovi mike tips instead of aerators..

Back plate

  • Separate the kidney and butt plates (subsequently hinging them with elastic, Velcro, etc).
  • Armour side gaps should be closed. This can be done by adding a shim or shims of white armour to the back plate.

A sandtrooper MAY have the following:

Custom backpack

  • Reasonable interpretations of the canon ANH backpack.a grey pauldron.

Hand plates

  • Dimpled or "cheese-grater" style rectangular hand plates.

Electrobinocluars

  • Modified Simrad rangefinder or equivalent.

Dewback prod

  • A black pole, approx. 96” long, with silver metallic details at both ends.
